SkillsOne Television will be running film coverage of the WorldSkills National Competition on the Aurora Channel 183 on Foxtel on 24 June between 9-9.30am.
The WorldSkills National Competition was held in Brisbane over four days in May. The national competition showcases and highlights the skill and the passion of 500 young Australians from all over the country. The event attracted over 60,000 visitors to the Brisbane Convention Centre.
Primary industries was Included in the competition: competitors undertook projects such as livestock control , tractor and machinery maintenance at an Agricultural School 30k north of Brisbane, plus they demonstrated their skills at fence repairs, first aid and soil testing in the main hall of the convention centre. A small farm enclosure had been installed to house some young animals including a calf, goats, lambs, ducks and chickens. They were a big attraction to the many visitors.

Jasmin Clark from Dakabin State High School won the Gold Medal , Laura Hill won silver and Matthew Jones the Bronze.
Meat Retailing was also one of the main competition categories: Nicolas Martin from Nelsons Meat Berry won the Gold, Jason Lynch (Wollongong) the silver and Scott Johns (Gully Meat Service , South Australia) the Bronze medal.
