AgriFood Skills Australia is working on a project to promote career opportunities and pathways within the agrifood industry.
The project will involve the publication of a brief careers guide, supported by an online resource providing information about courses, training opportunities, job profiles and pathways mapping. The main objectives of this project are to:
- Promote awareness of job pathways available within the agrifood sectors
- Identify the sectors of the industry suffering critical skills shortages that will benefit most from the development and circulation of promotional materials
- Develop and publish print materials, including a careers booklet, as well as a careers website providing further detail and greater circulation potential
- Utilise social networking media to increase awareness and establish an online community of students and workers with similar interests
- Provide relevant and current information about the industry
- Increase awareness of, and promote, education and skills training pathways into agrifood careers
- Provide relevant and up-to-date career information for young people.
