Equine Dentistry Continuous Improvement Project

ACM10 Animal Care and Management Training Package

The Equine Dentistry Continuous Improvement process has been initiated as part of the Animal Care and Management Training package. .

A National Reference Group (NRG) has been established (see the membership list below). The NRG held its first meeting on 15 June and agreed on draft content documents for the proposed Certificate IV and Diploma qualifications. These will be reviewed initially by NRG members as well as state/territory regulatory bodies.

After Review Stage 1 a Review Stage 2 will gather feedback from industry stakeholder groups, including state industry training advisory bodies and state training authorities.

Activities

June 2010

  • Establish NRG and conduct first teleconference
  • Advise all State Training Authorities and State/Territory Industry Advisory Bodies of project
  • Finalise draft Certificate IV and Diploma packaging rules and green skills requirements. Update units to CATII template and expand range statements.
  • Review Stage 1 - Distribute draft content to NRG members for review by their network groups and State/Territory regulators  - include Explanatory Notes regarding background of development etc. (21 June to 23 July 2010).

July 2010

  • Draft review consideration time closes (23 July 2010).

 August 2010

  • Evaluate DPI/NRG draft feedback
  • Further consultation with subject matter experts regarding any major issues, amendments made as required
  • NRG teleconference (or face-to-face meeting, if required) - revision update
  • Prepare for Review Stage 2 - distribution for consideration by the wider stakeholder audience via AgriFood website (4 weeks). This will include State/Territory Industry Training Advisory Groups and State Training Authorities.

 September 2010

  • Address Review Stage 2 feedback, working with subject matter experts and NRG members.

 October 2010

  • Prepare final draft documentation
  • Final draft versions uploaded to AgriFood website for Draft Validation Stage by stakeholders (4 weeks).

 November 2010

  • Address validation draft feedback - NRG update
  • Quality Assurance process conducted, TP Front-End and Case for Endorsement developed
  • NRG Teleconference - QA update and approval to submit for endorsement stage.

 December 2010

  • State Training Authority Process - 14 days consideration
  • Submission to DEEWR - Case for Endorsement
  • Reference Group Teleconference - STA process outcomes and endorsement status update.
